I recently watched the film In Search of Lovecraft which was, admittedly, not all that great. I have enjoyed other works inspired by the big horror authors, Master's of Horror's The Black Cat with Combs as Poe I thought was pretty well done.
My question is therefore a bit different. Not only who do you admire but who do you think has inspired other people's work the most?

Some of Philip K. Dick's novels made for some good movies (Blade Runner, Total Recall, A Scanner Darkly, and Minority Report). William Burroughs influenced Cronenberg a lot. His early films like Videodrome and Scanners especially.
